Bio

Melanie Jade Boulerice is a dynamic and dedicated registered nurse with over a decade of experience in emergency room care and psychiatry. A graduate of John Abbott College in 2013, Melanie launched her career in the high-stakes environment of the emergency room, quickly proving her resilience and skill. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University in 2019, balancing her studies with her burgeoning career.

In her early years as a nurse, Melanie recognized a critical gap in resources for both nurses and patients. This realization ignited her passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. She developed a program tailored for nursing students preparing for the Quebec licensing exams (OIIQ/OIIAQ), offering study tools, tutoring, and mentorship to ease their transition into professional practice. Melanie also became an instructor for the OIIQ exam workshops at John Abbott College, where she guided over 200 students to achieve an impressive 90% passing rate.

Melanie’s deep understanding of the health care system and her drive to bridge its gaps led to her next entrepreneurial venture. In 2019, she launched the Nomadic Nurse Agency, a groundbreaking mobile nursing company and nurse placement agency for pharmacies and clinics in Montreal. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, her agency became one of the first to offer mobile COVID PCR and rapid testing services directly to people’s homes. The success of the Nomadic Nurse Agency not only expanded access to health care but also fostered collaborations with other health care businesses, public speaking engagements, and mentorship opportunities.

Melanie’s impactful work during the pandemic earned her recognition on major media platforms such as CTV, CityTV, and CBC, as well as radio shows like CJAD. She was featured in international podcasts and a German magazine, where she shared insights into her career path and experiences as a nurse in Quebec. Her contributions have been honored with awards for community achievements and entrepreneurship.

With Melanie’s vast experience in nursing, leadership, and entrepreneurship, she was promoted to Nurse Resource Manager at the McGill University Health Centre. In this role, she wears many hats, including providing support to nurses and health care professionals, managing hospital bed flow, liaising with other institutions, and much more. Additionally, she is a Clinical Instructor for McGill University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, where she has mentored and educated the next generation of nurses in clinical settings.

Through her diverse roles, Melanie continues to advocate for patients and health care professionals, working tirelessly to enhance accessibility and quality of care in Quebec. Her entrepreneurial ventures—including mobile nursing services, a placement agency, and medic services for events—reflect her commitment to bringing health care directly to the community. This inspired her to take the full leap into entrepreneurship and travel nursing, where she can use her platform, years of developed knowledge to serve the community.

Melanie’s journey is a testament to the power of determination, creativity, and compassion. She aims to inspire others to pursue their dreams, transform challenges into opportunities, and make meaningful contributions to the health care sector.
